Volume VIII: Key Exploration and Development Wells includes IPC data, from public, semi-public and privately-bought sources, which – dating back to the 1960s and earlier – are very valuable in offering detailed operational guidelines for drilling and exploration in Iraq.

These data are accompanied by expert comment and analyses of the drilling operations and well test results, given for each field or structure.

The key wells covered in this volume are selected to present the drilling results in areas outside the current producing fields, to benefit those companies who wish to start new programmes in Iraq.

Covering drilling, geology, electric logging and well test information, the data are from exploration wells and some producing wells from North and South Iraq. These data also provide assessments for many prospects in locations that are of particular interest today.

This volume offers data of great value for re-evaluating the potential for new operations in the future, beyond the work envisaged for the oil companies in Iraq’s Round One and Round Two bidding process. Future production will be aided by the reduction in operational risks and costs, thus benefiting small and larger companies that seek investment in Iraq.
